Karen Pearce is the Principal Consultant at Bloom Communication. As well as regional centres, she has worked in Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne in both public and private sector roles, in universities, government agencies and publishing, and as a consultant for small businesses.

Karen studied ecology and biodiversity, and holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from Macquarie University and a Graduate Diploma in Sciences Communication from Central Queensland University. She is a member of the Australian Science Communicators and the Society of Editors (NSW).

Prior to establishing Bloom Communication she worked for CSIRO, the Bureau of Meteorology and the Australian Greenhouse Office (now the Department of Climate Change). Karen has also written for ABC Science Online and CSIRO's The Helix magazine.

In addition to Karen’s expertise, Bloom Communication regularly engages suitably qualified communication professionals to ensure that projects are completed to the highest quality and on time.
